Hombres - Texas Chipotle Salsa

In 1990 an Austin, Texas couple discovered a wonderful salsa "they immediately fell in love with." It was being served in a small Mexican restaurant in central Texas. The salsa was being made with aromatic and flavorful smoke cured jalapeno peppers supplied by the owner's family in Mexico. Since these smoked peppers were not available locally, the couple decided to develop a method of smoking these delightful peppers themselves to make their own salsa. Texas Chipotle Salsa was the result of their efforts. This distinctively flavorful salsa has gone on to win several local and national awards. The secret to success has been their commitment to carefully hand pick and smoke their peppers to insure the best quality and flavor in every bite. This salsa is simply incredible to cook with since it adds a nice subtle smoky flavor. We used it to prepare a meatloaf which was absolutely heavenly. We also used this salsa in a Con Queso recipe which was one of the best we have ever had - you've got to try this great salsa. Click here for a recipe using this salsa!
